Do I need a GRSICO Zigbee hub if I have Alexa Echo or other zigbee hub?
Our Zigbee devices can connect directly to Alexa Echo models with a built-in Zigbee hub, such as Echo Plus, Echo (4th & 5th Gen), Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 10.
Echo Dot and Echo Show 5 do not support Zigbee and require a separate Zigbee hub.
How do I know whether or not my Alexa Echo has the built-in smart home Zigbee hub?
Ask Alexa. Say, “Do you have a smart home hub?”

SmartThings hub works very well with this.
Very good value for what it does.It’s small, unobtrusive and just works. The reset button is recessed and if you need to use it, the manufacturer supplies a pin. But I didn’t need to use it.Just pull the tab protecting the battery out, the device flashes red and do a search for nearby devices on the SmartThings add menu and it finds it within a minute. I do have multiple Zigbee devices so haven’t had any issue with the signal getting to the hub. Either through the mesh or directly. Response time is instantaneous.The adhesive works as long as it’s been warmed up.The magnet works even if it is offset by the width of the control unit. So instead of needing to be face to face as the documentation recommends, it works edge to edge as well. But obviously much more sensitive to a gap.Can’t speak for battery life. I’ve only had these for a couple of weeks. I’ll report back.But definitely recommended for a Zigbee hub if you need a door or window sensor.

Easy Pairing and Setup
Nice compact size and excellent function. They were easy to pair simple to install with good double sided tape included. They are effective for automation of my smart home via hubitat. The range is excellent and so far are proving themselves a good value.

They work with Home Assistant via ZBT-1.
The compact size makes them easy to install, and they tolerate a wider gap between the sensor and magnet than other units I’ve used. After a full week of use, the battery still reports 100%.

Does not pair properly with Alexa Hubs
These do not work with Alexa as a Zigbee hub. The Alexa devices can see the contact sensor, and it can add I to the app. But the will immediately show that the sensor is unresponsive. It will not detect the sensor in any useful way. The sensor’s light will continue to flash, and the sensor will never properly connect the Alexa. .I am seeking another brand.

Lack of information
Make sure you read that you have everything you need. This description said that it needed a zigbee hub , but also it can connect to alexa echo shows. One thing, it didn’t say that you needed lights to add to the smart home the echo device that you have lights added first before you can add the door sensor. This is not user-friendly.

EXCELLENT Zigbee Door/Window Sensor! Extremely small compared to Z-Wave sensors and a TINY FRACTION of the price! Was recognized INSTANTLY by my Samsung Smartthings controller. This is my second attempt to use Zigbee to replace dying Z-Wave sensors. The other Zigbee product I bought was not recognized by Samsung Smartthings.
