Liked the ability to see how much electricity I’m using in my workshop building separate from our house, was trial and error of clamp positions to distinguish between using and generating electricity. I was installing to measure 2 pole amperage ( 2 legs of 120 volt)

Easy to use, works great
Simple clamp style ammeter loops fit easily over 1 Guage wire or larger. Simple to connect to wi-fi. Even inside a full metal enclosure (a near Faraday cage) I get good data. Updates are every few seconds or so.Bought this to monitor my kw usage when running on backup generator to know howuch headroom I have. Put it on the breaker panel feed so I can see power consumption any time.Also has provisions for net metering but I am not using this feature.

Pros & Cons
Good product but, If you’re planning to monitor the total usage of 240v vs using one for solar, you’ll need to reverse the clamp or wires on load #2 to have them both read usage or else one will be reading usage while the other reads energy produced. My only real issue with the product is that they require you to pay for a subscription or else limit you on the features. The paid subscription was not mentioned, and that alone is a massive issue.

Not for getting energy totals!
The device works fantastically easy to install but the software is horrible. The statistics feature will not give you a total for the day or for the month or for the year. It just gives you an ongoing graph and it’s impossible to isolate any period to to get a total usage during that time. There’s no way to reset the meter to zero so I can measure the usage for the month. It’s just an ongoing reading of current usage and total usage since it was installed. Pretty much useless for my purposes.

Works great so I can monitor my.usage from my phone at any moment plus history. Simple to install but you need to be comfortable working in your panel box…or you will kill yourself. Great for the money. Configuration was super simple but the app requires location permissions to work…not sure why but it does.

Hooked right up to WiFi and app was intuitive once I switched to classic version. Measuring 240vac on main for total house usage and powering unit with spare 240v breaker (no neutral). Within 0.1 amp to my fluke ammeter. The directional arrows on clamps don’t matter at all just got to keep flipping them around until no negative is shown. I assume these are like most CT’s so I wouldn’t swap wire position to change direction unless circuit is de-energized. Can’t seem to find a way to reset statistics yet, and I am not using with any grid tie system so the generation stats are kind of annoying. An HMI screen would be fantastic but would increase the price point for sure. For the money I am surprised it works as well as it does or even at all…….Update- None of the above really changes and unit is still working. But I can’t believe it took me this long to notice. Reason I purchased was to measure 240v kw off house main breaker. Even though I’m powering unit with 240v it is calculating kw at 120v amps L-N by adding both together. If all I had was 120v loads, this would be fine. May be my fault for not reading close enough but there isn’t really much to read. So with my two 5.5kw 240v water heaters plus 240v AC compressor (idk kw on it) these loads are being doubled for total kw. Like I said, if you want to monitor 120v loads👍 Whole house 240v will not give accurate totals (which I still cannot reset btw). Hope my ramblings help!

Don’t make the same mistake I did. It doesn’t accurately measure 240v. It can handle 240V in terms of voltage range. However, many of these single-phase monitors are designed with the assumption that you’re measuring a circuit with one “live” conductor and a neutral. In a North American split‑phase system, you have two 120V lines that together provide 240V. If you clamp both hot wires with the two CTs, you might end up summing the currents from each leg. That can make the meter show a value that appears “double” what you expect—especially when the load is a 240V appliance where the same current flows in both wires.

I used this product to log the power consumption of my cold climate heat pump. The metering product is not CSA or ULc approved so it had to be put into an electrical box since it is monitoring 240Vac.Data collected seems to be accurate, however there is no way to export the collected data to any third party software for analysis.
