    The Rolls-Royce of robot vacuums!
I’ve always had handheld vacuums (Dyson, LG and Shark), and always had this assumption that a robot vacuum just wouldn’t have enough suction power to thoroughly clean enough. I have seven cats, yes you read that right lol, and our home has carpet, rugs and laminate flooring throughout. It’s usually a whole process for me with vacuuming and getting out the attachments to get in all of the nooks and crannys. First off, I’m floored (no pun intended) at how incredible this vacuum is! This robot vacuum is the Rolls Royce of all robot vacuums! With having lots of cats/pets pet hair and dust is a job in itself to keep up with! I thought I did a good job cleaning, until I saw this little ol’ robot going under my kitchen island and cleaning spots that I hadn’t even thought to clean daily! When I say this vacuum is a major stress relief, I truly mean it bc I know, and can see, how well it cleans. I was worried the first time I turned it on and I saw the side sweepers moving realizing it resembles some of their cat toys. Well, my fluffy boy, Charlie Rose, decided it was his nemesis and that the sweepers looked similar to his cat toys. I thought immediately, oh my goodness this vacuum isn’t going to survive the night and will be destroyed while we sleep lol! I was wrong, again! My cats watch it everytime it goes to do it’s daily chores and it almost gives them stimulation/enrichment in a way. They allow it to clean up, but keep a very close eye on it everytime and this also brings up the feature you can use where it’ll take pictures for you of obstacles it comes across. I laugh everytime I see the pics on the app. I also have a lot of cat scratching sisal posts around our home and I figured it would end up getting stuck frequently while trying to maneuver around them. Guess what, I was wrong again!! The wheels on this badboy maneuver with ease over the edges like it’s a robot vacuum 4×4 🤣! I don’t feel like I have to watch it when it’s turned on and worry that it’s going to get stuck or suck something up that it shouldn’t. It’s able to see cables/cords and it’ll avoid it to ensure it doesn’t cause damage. I also have longer hair and like the cats I shed lol. Well, my long hairs will wrap around my Dyson and Shark vacuum brushes and ever so often I have to manually clean them out. This vacuum has a design to where it picks up all hair/fur and doesn’t ever get tangled, like ever! I’ve used the mop feature also a few times in our kitchen and it’s incredible. When it’s done it cleans itself and dries with warm air to prevent that old wet, damp moldy smell some mops are prone to. Also when it’s done vacuuming, it empties everything into a baggy inside the home docking station. I seriously could go on and on about all the amazing things this vacuum does and how much of a stress relief it is having it. It really does help relieve a big burden that comes with having and loving pets which is the dust and fur that comes with it. Originally when I saw the price tag I was skeptical, but wow.. This vacuum is beyond words worth every single penny and then some! There are so many customizable features on it to ensure the job is done the way you want it. Excellent quality and it really has turned my whole opinion on robot vacuums around. I think in the back of my mind I’d always assumed robot vacuums would scare the heck out of my pets and I didn’t want them to be stressed out. The fact that none of them run in fear when it’s on, is a major major plus for me!I also have a few friends with Roombas that are envious and now have it on their Amazon wishlist lol. I attached a pic of the first night we got it and how I was 100% certain “Rocky” the vacuum had met it’s demise lol. The other is of some of the entertaining pics I get to see while it’s cleaning.

A True Upgrade over other name brands
I’ve used Roomba models for the past 5 years in a home with two heavy-shedding Corgis, andwhile they helped, they always required daily prep—picking up toys, cords, and items to preventgetting stuck—plus constant cleaning of tangled fur from brushes and wheels. The noise alsomeant I could only run them during the day. After a full month of daily use with this Roborock(vacuum + mop combo), it’s a complete game-changer. It mapped my entire main flooraccurately in minutes using LiDAR, handles pet hair without a single tangle or clog, never getsstuck, and is whisper-quiet enough to run overnight while we sleep. The obstacle avoidance isreliable, and it even reorients itself perfectly if I move it to another room something my Roombascould never do without remapping. The mopping feature does a great job on hard floors for daily upkeep, lifting paw prints and lightdirt without streaking (I set no-mop zones on rugs via the app). Battery life covers our ~1,200 sqft level easily, and maintenance is minimal—no hair wrapped around anything. This was a bit ofa splurge for me, but after a month of hassle-free performance, I’m sold and already planning toget a second one for downstairs. If you have pets and want a truly low-maintenance robot thatvacuums and mops without constant babysitting, this feels like next-level technology comparedto older models

    OK with significant downsides
I am just lukewarm about this sweeper/mop. It has a lot of features but it is complicated and confusing to use. I also do not like that I cannot access the internal clean water tank. The mapping feature is not very accurate and results in missed areas and a 3-4 inch strip along walls not cleaned. I do like that you can store 4 maps for different levels in your house but it does not switch between maps well and you usually have to manually load a map using the app, not a huge deal but it is still a nuisance. There was a time when I used a saved map to clean an area and the robot was not able to return to the dock after cleaning so it stopped and called for help, Seems fine so far. I moved the robot to the primary map area and pressed the Home button and it started to move but did not find the dock and gave up. I tried again only to find that it was no longer connected to the wi-fi and there is no “reconnect” button and the only way to get it reconnected was to start the process over. I had to dig up the vague instructions for how to connect it (because no one commits that to memory) and go through the very clumsy process again. Very irritating.Overall, its cleaning ability is only mediocre. It frequently leaves debris behind and sometimes just drags it a few feet only to drop it elsewhere. I estimate the robot picks up around 90% of visible debris. The mop function uses very little water so its mopping ability is pretty limited, it does ok for routine maintenance mopping but it is not adequate for thorough cleaning. The schedule feature is nice and simple to configure. I like that I can set it to run at night and the floor will be (mostly) clean in the morning. If you do decide to try this, remember that it is an IoT device (Internet of Things) operated via a cloud server in some unknown country. The robot first connects to your wifi then to a remote server and then to your phone, it is not a simple Bluetooth connection and it is cumbersome and difficult to get it all connected. If you connect this to your main Wi-Fi, there is not much to protect your network and devices from a malware payload or even allowing 3rd party hackers to use this device as an entry to your network. The only safe way to use sketchy IoT devices is to make an isolated network on your home router and only let these IoT devices on that network but that is beyond the ability of most non-tech savvy people. There is no way to know about the security if the remote server the robot uses and they can easily be targeted by hackers or even company employees and then the robot becomes a vector to attack your home network and sensitive information. DO NOT CONNECT THIS TO THE WI-FI WITH YOUR SENSITIVE COMPUTERS AND PHONES ETC.This is very pricey for a sweeper robot and there is likely no way to repair is after the dubious warrantee expires. This is an excerpt from the warrantee on the company website:”NEW PRODUCTS LIMITED WARRANTY.Roborock warrants to you that the new Roborock product you purchased (the “Product”) will be reasonably free from defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the product purchase date, when the Product is stored, handled, installed, used, and maintained in accordance with instructions provided by Roborock.”Note that is says ‘reasonably free from defects’. I take this to mean that I will have to live with what ever they determine to be reasonable defects.
