*Roborock robot vacuum supports only 2.4 GHz WiFi. Please ensure your router is set to this frequency. If your home primarily uses a 5 GHz band, consider enabling dual-band mode or switching to a 2.4 GHz network for optimal performance.
Ultra-Powerful Deep Suction: HyperForce 8,000 Pa lifts dust, hair, and debris from floor cracks and deep within carpets — for spotless floors, every time
Dual Anti-Tangle Brushes: A specially designed main brush and zero-tangle side brush prevent hair wrap, ensuring smooth cleaning and minimal maintenance
Precision LiDAR Navigation: 360° laser mapping scans your home in real time, plans the most efficient route, and saves multiple floor maps for easy navigation
Vacuum & Mop in One Go: The 270 ml water tank lets you vacuum and mop at the same time. With three water levels and a removable mop pad, it tackles everything from fine dust to dried-on stains. Reminder: The water tank and dustbin are designed as a single integrated combo part
Tailor Every Clean to Your Home: Set zones, schedules, and suction levels through the Roborock App — customize each clean to your home’s layout
Avoids Trouble Before It Starts: Automatically identifies areas like cables or table legs and suggests no-go zones to avoid getting stuck or interrupted

    Worth Every Penny
This has been one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. I have three dogs and one cat, plus a mix of carpet and hardwood floors, and this vacuum handles it all amazingly well.I’ve used the vacuum function several times now (haven’t tried the mop yet), and I’m honestly impressed with how powerful and thorough it is. The suction is excellent, it maps the house accurately, transitions easily between carpet and hardwood, and picks up way more pet hair, dust, and debris than I expected — even in high-traffic areas.Setup was quick, the app is easy to use, and it’s been a huge time saver. I didn’t realize how much I would love having this until I had it. Highly recommend!

Excellent Robotic Vaccuum with Lots of Features
A Little Background: This review is coming from someone who works in the IT industry, so I’m very comfortable with technology. Features and settings that I say work great and are easy to setup may not come so easily to some. That said, I don’t have extensive experience with robotic vacuums. I have used the same ole Roomba 670 for the past few years and haven’t “upgraded” because, quite frankly, I was never really impressed with the technology. Don’t get me wrong, the 670 picks up great, but the pinball cleaning pattern just isn’t conducive with whole-home use and made it, at least in my estimation, “good enough for the high spots”. Coming from that, what I’m impressed with may not be so impressive to some. There’s your context, so apply it to my product review and dissect accordingly.Suggestions:1) Make sure it’s fully charged before doing anything. Download the app while you wait so you’ll have that handy once it’s time to begin setup.2) RTFM. It’s a pathetic little guide almost devoid of meaningful information but read it anyway. You may extract tidbits of info that you find useful.3) Once ready for setup, open the app and begin the wireless connection to the robot. Some access points will recognize that the client doesn’t support 5 GHz connections and isolate that band automatically, but if yours doesn’t choose the 2.4 GHz connection NOT the 5 GHz.Recommendations:1) Update the firmware immediately after setup is complete. This will ensure the latest fixes and features are available, potentially making for a much smoother experience. Access your robot in the app and open its settings. Click on “Firmware Updates” and apply if an update is available. Make sure the robot is fully charged before you start this process and don’t touch anything until it is completed. The robot will announce that the update is complete, and the app will indicate that the firmware is up to date.FINALLY! TIME TO CLEAN!*** Not so fast! IF you want to save the map generated by the robot, you’ll need to enable that option in settings FIRST! I really debated on whether to share this information or let folks experience the same joy I experienced when the first cleaning was completed, and I went to edit the map. Only then did I learn this setting needed enabling. Once again, access the robot in the app and open its settings. Open “Manage Maps” > Enable “Map Saving (Beta)” > Set the number of levels in your home you’ll use the robot in. There, now that I’ve robbed you of that wonderful experience start the robot and let it clean. Only pick it up or assist it if requested. Now, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly:Good:1) Cleaning (Grade: A+): Suction is powerful on bare floors and the automatic carpet boost works great on runners and throw rugs. My floors are bare throughout the home with low-cut level loop style rugs scattered abroad. I cannot speak to the vacuum’s performance on carpet, but I’d guess it would perform great on low and medium level loop carpets. I’m not so sure about shag or cut pile style carpeting. Thinking about how these robotic vacuums work, I’m not too sure any of them would do much more than tug at the long, thick fibers. You can manually adjust the power of this vacuum in its settings, so a little experimentation might make all the difference between great or poor performance on carpeting.2) Pattern/Navigation (Grade: A+): The sensors on this robot are awesome and that means the software and engineering driving the robot is awesome. The robot cleans in a methodical back-and-forth pattern that overlaps just enough to ensure thorough cleaning, but not enough to amount to wasted energy. It calculates the cleaning area as it maps the surroundings, cleaning in small grids along its path. It does an excellent job of identifying objects and navigating around (or over) them. The cliff sensor works well, and the robot spends less time bumping into and getting stuck under objects, and more time cleaning the floor. It does a tremendous job at edge cleaning as well. This robot has true “smarts”. Goodbye pinball wizard robot vacuum.3) Mapping (Grade: A+): It’s mind blowing to watch how quickly this thing maps the room and its surroundings. Once you have the damned setting enabled to save the maps, features such as spot cleaning, room/zone editing, and no-go zones seem to work great. I’ve seen several complaints about mapping, but I’d point out an important caveat to that feature and that would be the word (BETA) beside the setting. When software (or in this case a feature) is in beta, bugs are to be expected as it is rolled out. Because the mapping feature is disabled by default, enabling it means you are agreeing to the UAT (User Acceptance Testing). Sending a detailed email to support about the bugs you are experiencing will help advance the development and push the software stable more quickly. Much more quickly than leaving a product review like “mapping sucks”, “mapping is garbage”, etc. Until it is stable, issues with mapping are on YOU as soon as you toggle that setting. They seem to be very actively updating and improving the software, so I expect this feature to be stabilized sooner than later. Unfortunately, testing takes the one thing we all hate to sacrifice…time.4) Features (Grade: A+): To highlight a few: Manually adjust the vacuum power, Pin n Go (tap a spot on the map and deploy for spot cleaning), In-app Remote Control, Scheduling, Mapping, No-Go Zones, Room and Zone Editing, Cleaning History, Guided Maintenance Scheduling and Monitoring, Firmware Updates. This thing is packed!5) Durability (Grade: A+): Of course, the true measure of durability is time, but you know how it is when you can tell you’re holding and looking at a well-made product. This vacuum has that look and feel that is reassuring that it will last for a long time to come. I’ve also witnessed it climb in and out of a table stand with legs made of square metal tubing on multiple occasions, and had I not seen it, I’d have placed money against it being able to do so. The legs are black, so I guess it doesn’t “see” them? I don’t know, but it’s tripping. If it were cheaply made there’s no way the drive train would be stout enough to traverse that obstacle.Bad:1) Dust Bin (Grade: C+): The dust bin is tiny. I mean really tiny. I mean it’s really, really tiny. Roborock has announced an automatic dumping dock is forthcoming, and I hope they have the good sense to make it compatible with a wide variety of their robots, because they’ll make a fortune selling the things if the other models have capacities like this one. I’d buy one right now if it were available for the S4 Max. If they rush it or allow marketing to dictate the development and make it only compatible with the latest and greatest robot in a bid to push consumers to upgrade, they’re going to miss out on a lot of revenue. They’ll be severely underestimating my ability and willingness to push pause, dump the bin, and resume cleaning if they decide to go that route.2) Documentation (Grade: C-): It’s thin. It’s so thin it’s almost transparent. It is the weakest link in Roborock’s chain. You can read the manual, in-app help, and every FAQ on the website and hardly glean a single thing of note. Sure, it mentions most every feature but elaborates on almost none of them. It’s as if robotic vacuuming with Roborock is a delicacy that you must cook yourself, but they want you to prepare it without giving away the recipe or any of the ingredients. I have no idea why I’m bitching about it though. I’ve really had no need for it, but it’s still true for those who do.Ugly:Absolutely None!Buy it. You’ll love it if you’re coming from an outdated model with a fraction of the features. I’m sure you’ll appreciate all that it has to offer if you’re coming from a slighly older model looking to upgrade, or crossing over from a rival brand in search of something better.

    Impressive, with a minor shortfall
I’m replacing a Neato that lost online support as the company caved. This one has some impressive performance for the price. First, I have no use for the ”mop” function that just drags a wet mat behind it. But for vacuum it works well. I don’t think it took more than 10 minutes to completely map my 1700 sq ft house. I can select what rooms it should clean, and other choices for cleaning. One big pain in the butt, however, is (a) it sometimes ends, returns to home and claims to be charging when it’s not. Then the battery discharges, and it notifies you it’s shutting down. Now we get the resulting problem – (b) it forgets your network login info and you have to try multiple times with their klugy process to get it back on your network. Otherwise, than that hassle, I’m pleased with this vac.

The only Robo Vacuum Cleaner I liked!
When the pandemic and stay at home orders hit, my wife wanted me to vacuum the house. I immediately started looking for Robo Cleaners. Over the past six weeks, I have tried four different models. It was something I did not like about each of the first three.I have a two story house with an elevated entry level that Robot cleaners cannot climb up to. That means I have in effect three floors on the house. In spite of promises, none of the other three could map and retain the maps for more than one floor at a time. The S6 pure can. Also, the S6 maps using a laser guidance system, not a camera. I think it may be more accurate in navigating and finding things, and of course could do the job in total darkness since lasers don’t need the lights on to work. This mapping function actually divides the floor into multiple rooms, this is a function I had to perform manually on other models I tested. If one wants to of course one can of further combine or divide the rooms or set the boundaries anywhere you want manually. One thing I miss on this model that other models that is that other models allowed you to label the names of the room, where is this as he does not. This may be improved on a future software update. However, I can still figure out which is the living room and which is the dining room on the map it draws. We have oriental rugs in some of the rooms. One of the other cleaners I tried promptly chewed up the fringes on the rug and curled it off. It sucked it into its apparatus and stopped and I had to freeze it. No matter what I tried to do or how low I placed the strings, , it constantly choked and had to be rescued every time it crossed the border of the oriental rug. (That one was returned in about two days.) The S6 nibbles the fringes a bit, but passes all of them OK. My wife did not like even that. On previous models, some allowed exclusion zones or no cross lines. This did not work. The no cross line did not work, because I want the vacuum to work on both sides of the line rather than just walling off a corner of the room. One of the other cleaners allowed you to map off a non-entry area. When I tried, the minimum width was something like 6 feet, which was way too large to use just on a fringe of an oriental carpet. Finally I tried the S-6 Pure. This is a brand new model from this company. I usually don’t like to buy things just as they are released, but the clock was ticking and I had no choice. However, I am extremely pleased with the product. As I said, it is brand new so I assume that everything is as up-to-date and improved as possible. It does indeed map more than one floor, and it has map three floors in my house. It has also made a pretty good guess as to how to divide all the rooms on the floor. These are modifiable if you wish. As I said, so far you cannot label the rooms, but that is not really necessary. I tried the no-go zone on this one. Unlike the other cleaner I try it, this cleaner allows a no go zone of perhaps 1 foot in width. This is perfect for the fringes on the carpet. I selected a no go zone around the fringes of the oriental rug and let the cleaner loose. One was pretty much perfect and one just nipple devoid of a little bit. I adjusted the border of the no go zone to include completely the fringes. Now the robot zooms around the living room but avoids the fringes of the oriental rug. I also set little no go zones around the vents which are on the floor in this room, so that the Robot cleaner does not go over the metal grating. This cleaner also has an option, which I have not tried yet, where it will vacuum at a lower strength on hard floors, but will sense when it is on a carpet or rug and increase the vacuum strength to vacuum these areas more heavily. This unit will also mop floors, obviously just smooth non-carpeted floors, but I really did not care about this function(though it is nice to have!). I am glad it is there because it might be of some use in the future, especially for kitchen and bathrooms. This unit has the largest battery size of the various sizes that are available in different manufacturers machines, so they charge more to list out as long as anybody else’s. It also has a vacuum setting which is among the strongest of the ones available in different models you might find. One additional thing I should say is that their customer service appears to be excellent. I have emailed them multiple times with various dumb questions, and I usually get a response within a day. Another nice thing is that they actually appear to read my question and do not give a boilerplate response. This is not the cheapest Robo vacuum cleaner on the market (not the most expensive), but if these features sound interesting to you, I have not found another cleaner even at a higher price that is it’s equal.

I was looking for a robot that can really vacuum and mop well, and thought that is not possible. I had a Neato XV Signature Pro that vacuums well, and thought that could not be surpassed. I was wrong. Roborock S5 Max could do either or both vacuuming and mopping very well. The other features that one can use from the App is wonderful too. Bought a unit for my parents and might buy one for my in-laws. “The Rock” is now our BFF!

Le robot est bien programmé et efficace. Seul petit hic est quand il tourne un coin à 90 deg, il y a une petite partie qui est oubliée par la brosse latérale, un mise à jour du logiciel pourrais facilement corriger la situation. Sinon, très bon produit.

After watching and reading many reviews of different robot vacuums I settled on the S5 Max. I owned a roomba a while ago and liked it but wanted something that worked differently. The S5 Max has exceeded my expectations. It has cleaned my 650 Sq. Ft. condo a few times now and has not missed anything. I love the app and watching it map out the rooms and seeing the cleaning pattern. I especially like that it does not just bang into walls to feel it’s way around, that was my biggest complaint with the roomba. I have a mix of hard and carpeted flooring and having the optional mop is nice, I have not hooked that up yet. Cleaning the S5 is really easy.
