Excellent product– buying more. 3-way switch success
Works great as advertised, both in local control and from the Apple HomeKit. I installed the switches in a 3-way circuit with two conventional switches. The instructions are clear, but to emphasize, it’s easiest to install the Eve dimmer on the “load switch,” and in my setup, required me to rewire the other existing conventional switch (aka “line switch”) so that the “load switch” has a consistent hot line. The quick start guide covers this, but it might be helpful if EVE added a better explainer video on the topic (I’m experienced with wiring, and it took me a minute, along with some AI chatbot help, to sort it out). The dimming functionality works exceptionally well, with excellent control from bright to very dim. No issues with noise or humming as with some smart electronics, and I love the haptic/audible clicking for on/off (which is configurable as is the LED indicator.) As always with smart switches, there are extra wires to cram in the gang box, so I would love it if EVE would make future versions thinner! For context, I have 5 EVE switches installed and used for years, recently added two dimmers, and have three more dimmers ready to install, along with five more regular EVE switches. The EVE switches don’t have Lutron’s long product history, but they are way more affordable and integrate easily with Apple HomeKit. No regrets and will be buying more!

Great dimmer switch, but there are some small issues.
Overall, I really like this dimmer. It works well with Matter and Thread and is fully integrated with Apple HomeKit. However, there are some issues:1. The touch surface is extremely sensitive. This may cause a problem for a location when the Eve Dimmer Switch is in a multi-gang box. When switching on another light with a standard light switch that has a large load, it sometimes triggers turning on or off the light that is controlled by the Eve Dimmer Switch.2. The metal frame of the switches is just a touch too wide, so installing two Eve Dimmer Switches next to each other in a multi-gang box is very tight. More than two next to each other causes some problems and the switches won’t fit well into a multi-gang cover plate.3. When pushing the dimming rocker (next to the touch surface), it is easy to touch the surface as well, so the light goes off.

Unfortunately not reliable, dimming control for LED is poor & design needs changes
I was thrilled to discover a smart dimmer that operates independently of a hub, uses thread connections for HomeKit integration, and can be installed in three-way setups without a companion switch. It also boasts an aesthetically pleasing design and is more affordable than Lutron. However, my experience has been far from satisfactory, leading me to return the two switches I purchased after consulting with Eve customer support for several weeks. The product details on Amazon and the Eve website are lacking in crucial information. For instance, the switch must be installed in the location where power enters a three-way configuration, and it is touch-sensitive for on and off, not a button or switch. While installation is relatively straightforward in a single-switch configuration, it becomes quite complex when attempting to install it in a three-way setup, requiring precise identification of the different wires. This task may not be feasible for many individuals to perform independently.Furthermore, I found the touch-sensitive button to be excessively sensitive, causing issues when attempting to adjust the brightness. The brightness adjustment rocker is positioned adjacent to the large touch-sensitive button, making it easy to inadvertently touch it while trying to adjust the brightness. Consequently, the light either turns fully on or off when I simply want to adjust its level. It’s possible that the touch pad may also contribute to another issue I’m experiencing. One of the switches I installed randomly turns on and off and occasionally flashes on and off. You can see this in the video attached to my review. This issue occurs with the switch I installed in the three-way configuration. I wonder if current fluctuations are the cause of this problem and are interacting with the touch sensor (which is something I have seen in other products). In my opinion, the switch would benefit from an actual push button, similar to those found in Lutron and other brands. Both of these Eve switches replaced Lutron dimmers which were capable of dimming both types of LED fixtures connected to them without any issues. The Lutron dimmers could smoothly and very accurately dim and brighten the LEDs. However, the Eve dimmers couldn’t do that. With each click of the rocker, my lights would brighten or dim in small amounts and then suddenly jump to a high or low level. It was very difficult to get the lights dialed into a specific setting. Additionally, when I got the lights to a level I wanted, when I turned them off and back on, they would often turn on at a bright or dimmer level than the setting they should have tuned back on at. All of this is a significant failure for a dimmer, especially at this price point. It seems these dimmers just do not play well with LED lights. After communicating with the Eve customer support team over several weeks (it is a slow process), they decided to call the switches defective. However, I came back here and see other people mentioning the same issues, so I don’t think my experience with two switches is simply a defect. If it is, then it seems there are many defective dimmers since I got two and other people are experiencing the same.Eve really needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. If the product lived up to the advertising, it would be excellent, and I would purchase these over Lutron smart switches. However, it seems Lutron is just far superior to these, so I must spend the extra cash if I want something reliable that can perfectly dim LED lights.I cannot recommend anyone try this product considering my experience. Perhaps the Eve switches (not dimmers) are better?

Great paired through Apple TV, Alexa works, Hubitat needs work
Good switch. Pairs easily with Apple TV with thread. Eve app and Apple thread router cooperate well. Matter connects to Alexa well. The only issue I find is that the Hubitat matter link isn’t getting on/off or level status. I can write fine from Hubitat just can’t read it.

    Works great
I’ve been using this switch for a while and it’s solid. I replaced another switch that always had trouble with. I use Matter with Apple’s Home Kit and it’s seamless.I have now bought an Eve outlet and that works well too. I am very happy with eve products and Matter.

Returned due to single color scheme.
Returned this item. Works with Apple HomeKit, but only available in one color (white). All of my existing switches are Lutron in light almond.

    Not worth the headache
I bought this back in August and thought it was great. It worked flawlessly and connected to my Apple HomeKit real easy. BUT the touch sensitivity is so sensitive that my lights would turn on randomly. Middle of the night I would be woke up by my lights being turned on. Thinking Eve would make an update to adjust the sensitivity or stop them turning on randomly but they never did. It’s now November and I said enough is enough. Bought a different brand and threw the Eve dimmer in the trash.

I bought 3 Eve dimmer switches (Matter over Thread) to replace my obsolete WEMO/Belkin WiFi switches. So far so good after 2 weeks of use. Switches can be controlled by Eve’s app or Google Home app, and by Google Assistant voice commands. The light switch isn’t mechanical, and is touch sensitive therefore it should be more durable (time will tell) without a spring to wear out.I docked one star because Amazon shipped me one “open box” light switch that I needed to request an exchange for. The serial number of the item didn’t match up with the box.The Eve switches were way easier to pair to my Google Hub Max (functioning as my Thread Border Router) than the old switches they replaced. I am hoping these using industry standards (Matter) will not suffer the same fate has the early smart home devices that simply fall out of support because the company (Belkin/WEMO) that made them decided to abandon support. And because these switches are “Matter over Thread”, they lighten the load on my WiFi router as there are less devices on my home network (not the case had I went with other “Matter over WiFi” devices). Now my Google Hub Max (Thread Border Router) does all the IoT work.

Dimmer switch doesn’t work. After numerous emails back and forth and weeks later, with the manufacturer, they finally acknowledged it was faulty. They suggested I do the return through Amazon where I bought it. But the return period on Amazon had expired. Im not sure the manufacturer will now handle the return.

Install was easy. I’ve used a bunch of smart dimmers and tried alternative thread based dimmers. Installed this a few weeks ago and it has been great.
