The Philips WiFi Indoor Matter Smart Plug is a well built, easy to use solution for any device you’d like to make smart. Here’s my quick list of pros and cons for the item.Pros:- The Matter designation means this device will work with any mainstream home ecosystem, whether that be Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, etc. WITHOUT the need for a hub.- Can be controlled through your home ecosystem’s app or voice command, or through the Philips SmartSelect app.- Alexa Connect Kit designation means it will pair directly with Alexa devices without the need to enable a skill. This provides a simple installation process to get this up and running in your home.- Plugs into a standard outlet without taking up both plug ins. It’s slim enough to where the other outlet can still be used even when this smart plug is installed.- Initial connection is as easy as scanning a QR code, letting it connect to your local network, and naming it in your chosen ecosystem.- Works just as expected, turns devices on and off with a single command. Also offers scheduling.Cons:- Only works on a 2.4 GHz network.- Once connected to my Apple Home, I used a pairing code to also connect it with my Alexa ecosystem. However, I was never able to get it to connect to the Philips SmartSelect app. Note: I added the switch to my Apple Home first, then went to the device settings in the Home app, and put it in pairing mode to get my manual code in order to connect it to Alexa. There were no instructions on how to do this, I just had to figure it out myself.- The included manual has a QR code on it that’s labeled “Instructions made easy” that takes you to a dead link. You get a “Page Not Found” message when it loads the website.- Makes an above average noise level audible clicking sound when the switch is turned on or off.Overall, the plug is easy to set up (although it wouldn’t connect to the Philips app) and works exactly as you’d expect. It’s Matter designation puts it in line with today’s standards, but the lack of instructions for connecting to multiple Matter ecosystems was a bit disappointing. I’ll still give it 4/5 stars and would recommend to anybody with a 2.4 GHz network.

Outdated software, Description obsolete
Philips requires a bridge to operate a lot of devices on smart schedules now, this one included evidently.What’s worse is the plug randomly disconnected from the app on its own.Truly a cheap product. Just buy the $30 one if you can afford it. Probably still need a Philips Bridge or Google Hub to operate on a schedule though.Waste of time.

It pairs over 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi and Matter, so once it is set up through a compatible hub or controller, you can control it with voice commands, schedules, and automations without juggling a separate app. The plug responds quickly to on/off commands in daily use, and scheduling routines like turning lights on at dusk or off at closing time works reliably. The compact design helps minimize interference with the second outlet, though on some outlet orientations it may still crowd larger plugs. This type of plug is best suited to lamps, fans, and low-to-moderate–draw devices rather than high‑wattage appliances, so it is worth checking your use case. If you are gradually building a more unified smart home that works across ecosystems, this plug is a practical, flexible piece to add into the mix

Doesn’t always stay connected to WiFi
It’s fine but disconnects most of the time from the WiFi, so I’m having to manually turn on what I have plugged in. I guess I get what I pay for but this would be a skip for me.
