Great doorbell camera from an Awesome company
This doorbell works exactly as you would expect. The install was super simple (2 screws for a bracket and the doorbell snaps in). You can either charge the doorbell and install it but you will need to take the doorbell off every so often to recharge it (it’s easy to take off the bracket, you just need to use a pin or the provided too to remove the doorbell from the bracket) or find a way to run a micro USB cable to the doorbell to never worry about charging it again. I opted to just charge it and not run any wires. I have other camera nearby so I don’t need to use the motion detection feature on the doorbell which should dramatically increase battery life. It’s been up for a few days at this point and the battery is still showing 90% life. I will update this review if the battery life drops dramatically but I doubt it will with my experience using other products from this company.Yes, you need to use the manufacturers app to set it up (I have no idea how the Alexa set up would work and have zero desire to use any assistant like it). The app is highly rated, easy to use and doesn’t require a high level of technical knowledge to navigate all the features available. I am using the iOS version of the app on a 14 pro max but I also set up the android versions for my relatives and each of them were very easy to use. It’s also super easy to share access to your cameras with others and you can limit how much access they get for each camera. All you need to do is make sure both phones have the Sovmiku app then on the main phone pull up the share code for the camera you want to share and scan it with the phone you’re sharing it with. It literally took me longer to type out how to share it than it takes for me to do the actual process IRL.In the last couple weeks I have ordered and installed 10 cameras from Sovmiku. Every one has been incredibly easy to set up and get working with their app. I even installed a couple at my grandmas house and the way their app works, it’s super easy to switch from looking at all the cameras at my home to looking at my grandmas house cameras. Because you can set up multiple locations, I know I can have cameras set up at various places and easily access them all.The feature I found to like a lot is when the doorbell is pressed, there is a completely different notification type that looks like you’re accepting a phone call. That way any notification from someone using the doorbell will not blend in with motion alerts from the cameras.My favorite thing about everything I got from Sovmiku is you can set up anything they make with an SD card slot to give you full access to all your footage without buying a subscription. Granted, you get some nice features with the subscription but you don’t need any of them to get your footage and you can set up your SD card to constant record while motion events get saved to cloud storage recordings.Finally, using the “SD” feature instead of the “2K” feature to record gives you good looking footage that is sharp enough to read license plates on passing cars from 50 feet away. So it’s safe to say the picture quality is great too.I definitely recommend this doorbell camera but I also recommend everything else made by Sovmiku at this point. On top of having good products that are easy to use, they also have great customer support. So even if you run into an issue, someone will happily help make sure you’re taken care of.

Just get this Doorbell Camera Already!
This doorbell camera is awesome!! I have the Sovmiku Doorbell Camera w/SD Card Slot. It has met and exceeded my expectations. Even though my expectations are high for cameras utilizing the same app for control haha! So far, in my experience, ANY camera that uses the Vicohome app for control has been wonderful. Brands I own range from Visionwell, to Amtifo, and now Sovmiku (This is my first Sovmiku product to be transparent).However, this Doorbell Camera by Sovmiku has met the superb quality i have enjoyed from these other Brands I listed. All are incredibly weather resistant, with tights grommets. Not to mention DURABLE!! I had a puppy recently cause a Camera or 2 to take a tumble… But no harm no foul, these tanks keep pushing along like nothing ever happened!I don’t know if these brands share innovations in weatherproofing and shock absorbency amongst each other but they are all rock solid and this Sovmiku D2A Doorbell Camera is no exception. The device feels well made, sturdy, and more than effectively weatherproofed.The image is crisp and clear and the responsiveness and short load times are superb for me and my home network set up.The Vicohome app has been nothing but great to me. After all, I own and currently run 10 cameras that all utilize this app. The price for the unlimited device plan is unbeatable. Eventually I had to upgrade to that plan haha.When you throw on the more than fair price point of the cameras themselves, I can only imagine how much I have saved in equipment and subscription fees by not going with “the big guys”.Back to this Sovmiku Doorbell Camera though. The crisp image, combined with almost immediate loading of live view, ease of installation and more than good enough battery life (not to mention cheap subscription rates) make this my favorite Black Friday gadget this year. And that’s a lot of gadgets to choose from! HahaYou wont be disappointed with this Doorbell Camera! Get it!Just please have your home network configured properly for optimal performance from the camera..Nothing worse than bad reviews about slow/lagging connection when my own tests/experiences have proven this device (and the others I mentioned before) can certainly deliver some outstanding function if they are not set up to fail.Thank you Sovmiku/Vicohome! Malfunctioning doorbell
We bought two of these, one for the front door and one for the back door. Camera works well, mic is sometimes delayed a bit, not a big deal. What is really frustrating is that the doorbell will go off randomly at all hours. Both of the door bells we purchased do this. There’s no reason for them to just randomly go off by themselves but they do and I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix the problem. Changed out the USB plug for the doorbell, uninstalled and reinstalled the doorbell cameras on the app, nothing has worked. Only thing I can think is maybe moisture in the air makes it malfunction but that shouldn’t happen as the whole point of a doorbell camera is that it’s outside. I wouldn’t recommend this product at all due to that fact.
