Always buy name brand
I got these at a good price. Gotta have name brand USB drives because they are more dependable than some off brand junk I’ve used. They work great, good quality and you can cover the end (which is a plus).

Very slow large file transfer.
I’m giving four stars because they are what they advertised. I bought these for large files that cannot be emailed. Just letting the customer keep it. The price was right. They never said they were fast. And they are not. Extremely not fast. I could burn the files to a DVD faster. I’ve been spoiled by USB 3. But that is my problem. I may return them because of that.

Good space – Terrible execution
Will NOT be buying this brand again!!So, I bought this a few months back, and in the beginning it was alright. Speeds were acceptable considering its USB 2.0 however out of the blue, about a week in, it stopped showing up on windows. Device manager could see it, but it wasnt able to be accessed in anyway.So I managed to fix it with an obscure disk utility in command prompt (because the normal disk utility wasnt able to talk to it) and finally got it formatted again and was able to see it and use it.Now it’s terrible! It will write at speed for a couple seconds, then it will just stop transferring data for about double the time it spent writing. After that it will start up again for a few second and again with the stopping for twice as long.I would take it back if I could, but I was out of my return window and I’m just learning my lesson that you get what you pay for. I would love for Verbatim to reach out and replace my defective product, but in the meantime, i’m just going to buy a different brand (samsung) and forget I made this mistake.The only upside is that it was a cheap mistake, 128gb for about $11 is pretty cheap. Will not be purchasing this brand of flash storage again.

ideal for my home office & hobby use
Verbatim 128GB PinStripe Retractable USB 2.0 Flash Thumb Drive: I bought (4) on sale. The drives attach & detach, neither too loosely nor too tightly. I use them exclusively for MS Office files, pdf’s & jpg’s so read/write speeds aren’t an issue. No glitches, lost data or lockups were experienced. I’m completely satisfied.

Just the right size
There are flash drives with much higher capacity and support USB 3.0 but there are many stereo or automotive entertainment systems that don’t support USB 3.0 or don’t support drives over 32GB. As an example I have a JVC system in my travel trailer that does not support either. Any flash drive over 32GB will not even be recognized at all. I typically listen to my favorite music or audio books while traveling so I now load them on these 32GB flash drives and can use them in any old or new vehicle, and in older stereo players with USB connections.
