takes away a lot of stress since you can control it from your phone!
super easy set up and a great price! works super well, i use it to turn on my plant lights in the mornings and off at night, compatible with alexa (also compatible with other things as well but i only have an alexa) so i just make her do it most of the time lol, 10/10 recommend especially for plant parents on a time crunch, you can do everything from the app and use the timer option to turn everything on and off at whatever scheduled time you choose!

Once you get it set up, it works well
I’m a little torn over how many stars to give these smart plugs. On the one hand, once you get them set up and integrated with Google Home (or Alexa, presumably,) they work just fine. On the other hand, I ran into a few issues while getting set up.First, if you’re very privacy conscious, be aware that the app that’s required to use these requires a phone number. I can’t think of a legitimate reason to require a phone number. I wouldn’t mind if it were optional, but it’s required.Second, since the company name is U-Tec, but the app name is U Home, it might not be immediately obvious that you’ve got the right app. You do.The third issue is related to the second, but was actually more confusing: when I went to hook it up to my Google Home app, I searched for “U Home”, since that’s the name of the app I wanted to connect it to. Nope. You want “U-Tec Smart Home.”Anyway, once I got past all that, the plugs worked like a charm. So I was tempted to rate them 4 stars, and I probably would have except for one other thing. The product name contains the words “WiFi Mesh.” But what does that mean? I was expecting that these plugs would create a mesh network and act as range extenders for my WiFi. That would have been an awesome bonus feature, but it does not appear to be the case. Perhaps they form a mesh network amongst themselves> I don’t know — but when I checked WiFi signal strength standing right by the plugs but far from my router, I could only see my router’s weak signal in the list. The plugs were connected to WiFi, and they worked, but they did not appear to be creating a mesh network that my phone could see. This may just be my misconception. But it might be good for the product description to say something about what it means by “WiFi Mesh” to prevent such misunderstandings.

Great LITTLE smart plug
The plug is ETL certified and does not require a hub. It includes MESH support, which is not commonly found at this price point, and is more affordable than many name-brand Alexa-compatible plugs. The compact design prevents it from blocking adjacent outlets. A child lock feature disables the physical button, allowing control only through Wi-Fi or voice, and a manual override is also available in case network access is unavailable. The button is located on the front of the plug, making it easier to access than side-mounted buttons. The LED indicator can be toggled on or off via the app, which may be useful in low-light environments.Setup was fast and easy, thanks to the intuitive mobile app. The hardest part was remembering my WiFi password. Build quality, design, and app integration are solid. This smart plug two-pack is a great deal at just ten bucks.

Use anything else but these.
Should have known better having used two of their locks, 2 packs of two outlets and one will show in the app after connecting, two more connect but don’t show in the app (so cannot be controlled) and one red X’s and wont work. One is the plug itself but the other two not showing in the app, not sure if it’s the outlets or the sketchy app….25% success rate. Return. Update – reached out for tech support and apparently it is an issue with the Android app, they are working on a fix. So, Android users beware….

Works as expected
I got this set of plugs to continue my effort to automate the house. The plugs were very simple to set up. The process was similar to all other plugs I have used. Take note: these plugs are very sensitive about the 2.4G signal. So if you have a 2.4G and 5G combined router you may need to make them separate bands. You will need to set up the app and create an account, and then use the app to link the plug to the home network. From there you can name the plug whatever you like. I then linked the U Home app to Alexa and use to operate all the plugs in the house (Google Home on my phone). The plug also has a button on the front of the plug that allows you to turn on/off without using the app or home automation helper. This is helpful if you don’t have your phone or a helper in the house. There is also an ability to schedule the plug on the app for regular on/off actions.Cost wise this plug is in the mid-range of plugs on the market. I have always been hesitant to buy at the lowest cost, but don’t believe that the highest level cost provides any additional benefit.
