I initially went with Direct TV streaming with AT&T, and thought I was getting a bundle deal with WiFi. Apparently that was not the case, and there was no way I was going to pay $100/month on top of the $90 I was already paying for WiFi, so I canceled the direct TV. Why am I sharing this? Because the set up for the Direct TV streaming Gemini kit was horrible. It took a good 45 minutes to set up, and each time I was trying to go through, it would restart for some kind of update. Even entering the alpha numeric was painful for user name and password. In comparison, the setup with Roku was done in 10 minutes. Everything was convenient, it even gave you options for email suffix! Even the remote was convenient, which by the way, I was confused by reviews complaining about the remote not controlling the TV, when literally it asked me during set up if I wanted to configure the Roku remote for the TV. I am able to Turn on the TV, as well as control volume. For a one time payment of $39, and still having some access to live streaming, as well as other apps, I felt this was by far the better bargain.

I first bought and installed the ROKU stick and it was crazy making; suddenly, out of the blue, would stop working, requiring 20 minutes to get up and running again. Suggested by a trusted source, I purchased and installed this ROKU Express which has been working flawlessly for more than a week.

This plug-and-play device works amazingly well! I’m using it for casting to my old TV instead of buying a new one, and it turns my old TV into a smart TV. The response is great, and I’m happy with my purchase. What can be said, it’s a roku, so, you can use any phone and d/l the app, or use it’s remote. all you need is a basic outlook.com account and a fictictious (if you wish name), and that’s about all there is to it Lots of extra stuff can be d/l’d to the interface, and that is pretty much completely customizeable. to each user, and yes, you can have more then one account, so, your kids can happily cram their section with stuff you’ve never heard of or wanted to hear of, while you keep yours as you wish. I purchased it, because running a computer 24/7 is stressfull on the puter, but a 50 buck Roku, that’s replaceable, the computer is a bit more then 50 bucks, along with the elect used. It’s a good deal. the product is easy to use, plug and play, don’t need to take a night school course to figure it out. All cool.
