    Quality and Easy install
Easy install and great functionality with many adjustments available. The price was good and it shipped fast. Good product. I have purchased multiple times and replaced nearly all the switches in my home.

    Finicky, but fine
Works most of the time. Sensors can be finicky. Also, one of them just stopped working almost a year after being installed. It’s fine, but I’m sure there are better out there.

Easy to install but requires operating manual to change program settings, so don’t loose these!
If you have used or installed a motion sensor switch to control a room light in the past then there are a few things different with this new motion control technology that you need to know. In all design there are always pros and cons for any product feature. Older motion sensor wall switches required a ground, neutral, power, and light wiring connection to work. This new technology no longer requires a “neutral” wire which is one less connection to make, but not earth shaking unless the wall switch box is already crammed with other wiring.Older motion sensor wall switches typically had a small dial or dials behind the cover that allows setting how long the light stays on after leaving the room, and how sensitive the switch was to distance, room size, or other effects that can affect the switch activation. This new motion switch technology does not have any manual switches that allow making these final adjustments to operation, and instead uses a combination of pressing “on” the center manual override button, plus pressing a very small recessed button near the bottom corner. When first holding either button down for 4 seconds, the motion control switch goes into program mode, then releasing a button causes the indicator lamp to illuminate briefly, then after a few seconds this indicator light on the switch will first flash once, then pause, then flash twice, then pause and continue up to 4 quick flashes. Releasing the button after the number of flashes you were waiting for locks in that program setting. While a simple way to change how long the room light stays on after exiting the room, the switch sensitivity, etc., you better never loose the instructions as there is no way to know which of the two buttons and which combination of flashes provides which program setting you wanted. For me I miss the old rotating switches, but I’m sure that adds cost.Unlike older single function motion sensor wall switches, this new motion sensor includes both Passive Infra-Red (PIR) technology, which can detect a human in the room even if not moving, plus Motion sensing technology, which detects a object nearby that is moving. Both types of sensing are needed in bathrooms and other rooms where a person may have very little motion, which can cause the ceiling light to switch off if based only on motion only. Adding infrared sensing helps reduce this problem by also sensing the infrared heat given off by a live person.Unfortunately, neither types of sensing technology works well to sense a person in a shower, especially if behind a glass shower door, but waiving an arm above the door will usually turn the lights back on if that does happen! Also, the heat remaining on warm shower surfaces and during running hot water can also fake out any infrared motion sensor and cause the light to stay on longer than programmed.Since I was replacing an existing wall switch, removing the old manual switch and installing the new motion switch took me less than 5 minutes. Overall I was very pleased with these motion sensors and thought these are a great buy.

    Simple and loaded with features.
First off. If your wiring is intact, you have a properly grounded system, and you know how to replace switches and outlets, you are going to have an incredibly easy time! We won’t go into the electrical hurdles I had installing this, it’s not the switches fault. This installation did encourage me to take on a larger project of updating my home to current electrical standards! So where was this going? The laundry room. What’s worse than carrying a basket into a dark space with no hands available? What goes in, must come out… so how’s that light getting shut off again? Welcome to this little convenience! Whys it special? 3 modes, multiple light level settings, and multiple timer intervals. There is an occupancy, occupancy without ambient light, and vacancy modes. Booklet describes them all. Easy to default back to a standard switch mode and deactivate the motion sensor element if needed. I opted for no ambient light occupancy mode, since I want all the light when entry is detected. Litter box for the cats are also in there, and it’s sensitive enough to sense them entering as well. Since mine triggers the stairway light as well, I have a 15 min cycle set. To give plenty of time to navigate. If you know you are done, you can hit the switch and end the timer immediately, with the sensor giving you enough delay to exit the range before reactivating. My favorite feature with this insulation… no neutral wire needed! With that said, it does need a proper ground. This greatly simplified my switch wiring needs. Comes with a very nice decorative wall plate, but mine is going into a multiple switch box and was not required. Comes with required screws and hardware. Being this is a dual-pack, I may add the second to the bathroom. Would also work well for attics, closets and basements.

    Perfect for stairs or garage!
Wow this is fantastic, it turns on my stair lights when I approach, no more stumbling in the dark! Installation was pretty strsight forward, just make sure power is off at the breaker so you don’t shock yourself. I like that it looks fairly modern, albeit it does look like its meant for a business. I have another one in my garage so when I open the door it turns on. The light switch is several feet away from the door on a different wall so you couldn’t really see where it was and had to fumble around for the switch. With this however, it turns on as soon as im in the doorway! Its sensitive enough to detect me which is all I care about. It seems to be pretty good quality and overall just works really well. Its worth the money, especially for stairs and garages. I’ll probably buy some more for a few more areas.
