Number 3 is the charm! (w/update)
Third small kettle attempt in the past couple of weeks. Finally a keeper! This bizarrely named Apwche kettle is no-frills, streamlined and feels solid, but its not heavy even with a full tank of water. Boils fast — full tank in about 4:30 minutes. Turns off as soon as it reaches a rolling boil. The spout has a well designed V-shape so that is pours accurately without dripping. The thermal body gets pleasantly warm to the touch, but does not get too hot. It is really all stainless inside. I don’t even see any silicon plugs. The on/off switch is in the handle — so no funky protrusions. Red light near bottom of kettle is lit when kettle is turned on and turns off as soon as it reaches a full boil. Water capacity fills a 23 oz french press with water to spare. No plastic odors upon heating. Its not loud. It doesn’t rattle as it boils. It iss not a gorgeous kettle, but it has unoffensive clean modern lines, and is thankfully free of cheesy decoration. Note — the switch on the handle is for turning on and off, not for popping open the top. The top is on a hinge and you have to manually open it up and snap it down. I got used to it immediately. I will update this review if I have any problems with the kettle, but optimistic that it will live a long time. Its a simple unit and in my experience, simple is best.UPDATE: The kettle is working well — but there is one thing important thing to note that I discovered only after using it a few times. Make sure its SWITCHED OFF before plugging into outlet — or else it will spark at the plug. The toggle switch on/off is black on black raised “I” for ON, “0” for OFF — and its easy to miss if you are not used to it. I now know to always make a habit of checking the kettle is set to “0” before plugging it in. Also, on my old kettle, I became used to a handle button to spring open the lid and this kettle the the lid is manually opened, and the button on handle is for on/off. In in my groggy pre-coffee morning, I had inadvertently switched the kettle on. Brain re-wire necessary!

Very handy
This 27 oz. Apwche electric kettle is the perfect size for me…not too big, not too little…just right. It heats water quickly and the red light at the bottom switches off when the water has heated. The lid takes a little getting used to, but we’re becoming friends the more I use it. The short cord is very stiff, and hopefully the more it is used, it will become more relaxed. The black color goes with any kitchen decor. It is just a very nice kettle.

I like it.
So far so good. It boils water and turns off when hot. It is small enough for what I needed it for. The only drawback is the top of the handle gets hot, so you have to grasp the handle a little further down. Not a problem for me.

Make breakfast in the hotel
We bought this for our Vegas vacation. The Vegas hotels have removed standard amenities like coffee makers and fridges from the rooms and expect you to rent a maker/fridge or buy from their expensive kiosk. We saved allot of money buy making a simple breakfast, with this kettle we made hot water and used the water for oatmeal and morning coffee/tea. The line for coffee and the hotel coffee bar was very long and we giggled at the suckers that did not think to bring their own way to make simple coffee/tea in the room.I like the tough stainless steel body great for our travels getting bumped around in our luggage.Brought our water to a boil fast.

Inaccurate product information
Although advertised as an 800 watt kettle, the sticker on the bottom actually says 900 watts. This was a problem for me as cruise ship I was taking it on had a 800 watt limit. I was unable to return as I was no longer in country. Kettle might work fine, I was never able to use it. Wish product information had been accurate.

Great little electric kettle
Very good quality. The small size doesn’t overwhelm the countertop. Functions great and is easy to clean.

I like everything about it except for the embossed water levels
It works great and does everything as promised. But inside there are two marks for minimum and maximum fill. I can’t read them! They are just BARELY pressed into the service. These need to be deeper and with some sharp edges so they can be read. I mean I can barely FEEL them much less see them.
