The best Smart Sockets on the Market
These are fantastic. They replaced 4 remotes we used to turn on Christmas lights around the house and timers that worked sometimes. No monthly subscriptions or hubs. Connects easily to our WiFi and Google Home. We set the on/off schedule for each socket that works perfectly and can just tell Google to turn them on and off with a “Hey Google….” When we want them on at other times. The Emporia app is a free download on iPhone/iPad, also available on Alexa and Android. Plus, the app will give you details on how much power each socket consumes while active.Winners!!!

Find quickly where your wall suckers are wasting energy.
Not difficult to install though time consuming for safety reasons. Do it right the first time and you will be happy.I have two systems and they are working perfectly.

Works fine, great app, a bit tricky to connect
They worked great, and the app is good. It was a little tricky to get them to connect to the wi-fi. You have to make sure you are connecting to a 2.4 g. And even then on one of the four I had to connect to its internal Wi-Fi directly because it wouldn’t detect but after that it worked fine.

Setup could be easier, otherwise great
Highly irritated with you know who* for discontinuing support for the dozens of smart plugs in my house but very happy with emporia’s replacements. We went with these because they’re reasonably priced, get good if not 5-star reviews, and we already have the app because we have al their car charger, which we’re very happy with. (Still want it to work in reverse so we can use the truck as a generator.) Setup was tricky because they are 2.4 only and we have mesh routers, so getting both the phone and the plug on the same one required some effort. Automatic setup didn’t work for us, so we had to use the hot spot method. Highly recommend doing several at once; once the phone gets on the same router, it’s easier. Integrates perfectly with Alexa with zero effort. Simply there instantaneously. Took over right where you know who* left off. Especially like being able to see how much power we’re using at each outlet. Expect to go with the emporia panel setup when our power distributor starts time-of-day pricing. Expect to add solar panel control when our power generator stops buying what we generate at retail price. Sure hope emporia doesn’t go the way of you know who.**w3m0

Well Worth It!
Purchased this to help monitor my energy usage. Also needed to pinpoint the usage of my security system to size an appropriate Battery Back Up UPS. Super convenient and easy to set up. Make sure your broadband is dual band and broadcasting on 2.4 ghz. This does not work on 5 ghz. App is smooth and easy to use. Name and group your plugs. Track usage in realy time, by the hour, day, week or month. These have a high amp rating and can handle just about anything you want to put into it. Likely not suitable for power tools, hvac or other large appliances. A TV or small mini fridge should be OK.Don’t forget to check out their whole home and circut breaker monitoring system.

Great for monitoring electrical usage at several outlets
These can be a little finicky to connect to your the tracking app, but once connected, they allow you track usage and turn off things plugged into them. You can schedule them to turn items on and off at specific times. Items like TVs & computers draw electricity even when “off”.

Not for critical devices
Good to know what the power draw is for a device. Two things I find issue with is loss of connectivity with some and power blips that cause my devices to restart. I have purchased a number of plugs to figure out why my electricity use is so high. I connected what I could on the circuits, but to identify individual devices I used a number of plugs. I have multiple computers, my router and my refrigerator all of which have experienced outages causing random reboots/resets. I also have a number of plugs that regularly show offline. They are all within 10-15 feet of a wireless access point so there should be no loss of signal. My refrigerator used to lose signal a lot until I put an extension cord on the plug and moved the plug onto the counter next to the fridge, not behind it.

I have an Emporia car charger and liked the app on my phone, so I decided to go with these smart plugs. They are legit, from accurate real-time reporting and an export feature to graph utilization. Worth buying a brand name when it comes to smart plugs

I was able to target high consumption devices at home and reduce my bill significantly. I love them, I had to buy more than one kit to cover most of the outlet in the house with permanent appliances on them. Worth the price.
