Absolutely Amazing.
I had no idea something like this was available for home use. It is simply the best home water dispenser I have ever seen. It is made of heavy gauge stainless steel so durable is an understatement. If you have an all stainless kitchen, it will fit right in (they also have a version painted black but I got the bare stainless).Being honest, installation is going to depend on how handy you are. It is recessed into the wall so does require cutting into the drywall. Plus, you will likely be running a water line extension to it unless you mount it somewhere that already has a line nearby. Not everyone is going to be able to do this and may need to hire it out or find a friend who does know how.Once I got it installed, it functioned perfectly and the whole family couldn’t get enough of it. The kids drank more water just so they could use it. It’s very easy to operate and the filter does an excellent job at removing off putting tastes and toxins while leaving some of the mineral content you do want. Filter replacements are available but it will be a while before you need that.One thing to note Is that the water is not chilled. I know that’s unrealistic to ask for though. Adding a compressor and condenser to chill the water would be over the top in size and cost, which is already considerable. But this is an appliance, not some filter attachment you hook to your faucet. When you see it, you’ll understand why the price. Definitely worth every penny spent. This is really that nice. It’s something you’d expect to see in a fancy office somewhere. Having one in the home is just awesome.

Sleek and High End Look, Easy Use
This is a BIG DOG point of use water filtration system for home, office, or daycare. It provides room temperature water, filtered on demand. This kit looks sleek and professional when installed. The filtration system with filter (expected to last up to a year) operates on 3 AA batteries and requires no power outlet. The instructions for installation are very clear and provide a list of materials and tools needed. There’s also a very good video provided by the seller that walks you through the steps to installing the unit. I chose the midnight, which is a shiny black panel. This must be placed in a wall near a water supply line, you’ll only need to connect to one cold line. This is ideal for our basement gym that has a half bath nearby. We connected to the water line on the outside wall of the bathroom, and added a water shut off for easy maintenance when needed. Depending on the width between studs, you may need to sister additional wood into the opening you cut, to create the correct dimension for screwing the back of the unit securely into the studs. Once the water is connected, the cover goes on with four included screws, add the drip tray at the base, clear the filter by running it for up to a gallon first, and you’re ready to go by simply pushing a button. The water dispenser can accommodate up to 12 inch tall water mugs and bottles. This is super convenient for refilling bottles while working out or on our way to the car in the busy mornings. This dispenser looks sleek enough for a doctor’s office, executive suite, or guest house. For those with short term rentals, this is a great service to provide your guests when the municipal water isn’t the best. Ideal for a bed and breakfast hallway next to the ice for coffeemaker and drinking, instead of plastic bottles of water — better for the environment and cheaper over time. This is a very quiet unit, with simple functionality — there’s only one button to use. I love the sleek look of this unit and consider it an excellent upgrade to our home gym/garage.

Bottle Filler with Fine Filtration
Looks sleek and modern. Fills cups or bottles, even large ones. Very nice fill valve that does not drip or leak when closed.Built in filtration is only single stage, but it filters smaller particles that a lot of other filters do not. Replacement filters cost $100 each, but you can find them for slightly less on sale. Generic filters are available for a lot less money, but the authentic Elkay filters use RFID tags that the generics may not be able to match. Elkay claims the filters last for up to a year, but it really depends on your water quality.You’ll know when the filter needs replacement when the flow of water slows down. Installing a whole home water filter system will significantly improve the life of the expensive filters in this unit.Can be installed into a standard 2×4 stud bay, does not need a 2×6 wall. Uses batteries, no option to hard wire it. This makes install easier, but it’s just one more thing to have to replace. A hard wire option would have been nice to have at this price point.These are available in other models with built in water coolers, those cost a few hundred dollars more.Overall a good option of you like the aesthetic, and especially if you need to install it somewhere without power. Value for the money is questionable when it lacks a hard wire option or a drain connection for spills.
