Best investment!! Solid machine. High quality. Not intimidating & no prior barista knowledge needed. Easy to learn how to become a barista with the touchscreen and you can choose to froth milk manually or use the auto function. You are in as much control as you like with the “my” settings, so it’s the best of both worlds. A fantastic feature that not all of the DeLonghi machines have is a built-in thermometer alongside the frother that automatically gauges the temperature without having to use a separate thermometer by hand. It is important not to get the milk too hot to compromise the separation of proteins and you end up with a scorched taste. The auto froth feature takes care of that specific to dairy or plant-based milks, which need different temperatures, so you can walk away and let the machine do the frothing for you if you don’t want to stand there and hold the carafe. Even manually you can see the temperature increasing digitally which is super helpful. There are so many settings and it’s really fun to be able to create your own favorite coffee settings as you learn the craft. Good investment and buying whole beans will save so much money vs. K cup pods or paper filters which is also a healthier option and the flavor is so much better!! I don’t feel the need to run to Starbucks every morning & the coffee is so delicious. Easy cleanup with quality stainless steel parts.

Grinder is useless.
I agonized for months over which espresso machine to get. Finally decided on this one, based on great reviews (though largely from pwople who had received a free machine) during Prime Days. It was delivered on a Saturday. Within an hour I had it unboxed and was working on ‘dialing in’ my beans of choice.After an hour, I was out still espresso-less, out of beans and out of time. Picked up more beans early the next morning and had to start the ‘dialing in’ process over. It’s a tedious process of grinding, tamping, and seeing if the machine can brew. If it’s too fine, you have to start over after adjusting the grinder one level. Over and over and over and over and over I did this, setting the grind coarser each time. Each time, it told me the grind needed to be coarser still. I repeated this process until I’d exhausted the grind options. Out of curiosity, I adjusted the grinder to starting point, ground the beans, and put them aside. Ground more beans on the coarsest setting, and compared those to the first ones. It was the same grind. There was 7 or so levels between the settings, but the grind was the same. So while I was moving the dial as directed to a coarser grind, nothing was changing.So, over $14 of beautiful organic coffee wasted. Not a single drop of espresso made. And now, the “return is delayed” at some point in the process, so my gift card money and rewards points are tied up because it was defective product, so must be reviewed and processed by someone…somewhere. My search for an espresso machine goes on. De’Longhi is likely off my list of brands.

Great machine, I will recommend it to those who really don’t have any clue of temping, grinding size this machine is absolutely for you with little bit of search. Also variety of brews is another positive point for it. Being semi automatic makes you involved in brewing different styles of coffee.

VERY inconsistent grinding
Should’ve bought a good grinder and a bambino plus or similar instead.This machine is VERY inconsistent in its grind output. If you use all its bells and whistles to get “the perfect espresso” with its directions, next time you will get 1 gram in overdose, eventhough you finally configured the perfect grind settings. Then a next time a different weight in grinded beans, and so on and so forth. It doesn’t even mantain a +- 0.5 gram difference at least (being here very forgiving). Oh and by the way… After a few grinds you will see that the grind level has started moving from all the vibration. Horrible quality!Then, its tamp has a lot of play around the basket. What happens here? With the spouted portafilter it may seem like a good pour. But, change to a bottomless portafilter to analyze the pour (with the same settings, same basket, etc.) and surprise, channeling like crazy.The pre made drinks are useless (which I think are being used as part of the hype). The only thing that changes are the milk froth settings and maybe temp of milk (which is actually a good enough auto frothing, at least it has that going). But again same grinding in all, same espresso setting in all, might as well bought a different machine and an actual good grinder.I will buy a better tamper, which actually fits better and a distributor to see if it changes anything. Also, weighing the beans before grinding to have a consistent grind. This way I will be able to have consistent pours and effectively removing and rendering useless anything that would give this machine the value Delonghi is giving it.Do yourself a favor and invest your $1,000 in something better.

The best prices i ever made on coffee machines. Machine is automatically and prepare coffee smooth and delicious, automatic milk frother and cleaning up the tube. Coffee grinder is automatic step by step until you get the right smooth coffee dreps, you have a hot water coffee mug to heat up the mug before coffee love it.
