Very good for one panel, but second does not connect
I received the LumoBell 2wire, Video Doorbell kit with two 7” screens Oct 19, 2025. On Oct 20th I installed the camera and downstairs panel after soldering the provided pigtails to the existing approx. 20ga solid wiring used for the 15 yr previous system (Aiphone). The panel’s live view video and intercom worked fine. I am not using any door or gate solenoid or the RF cards not the App. On Oct21 I added the upstairs unit on 15 foot long wire pair from “next” jack downstairs to “last” jack upstairs as per instructions. The panel powers up fine and I set date and time….but the “LiveView” is Xed out and gives a warning chime if pressed. I swapped the panels and the result is the same. I used the same care to connect the (red/black) pigtails provided to the house wires (yellow/blue respectively). However reversing the pair still powered the upstairs unit but “LiveView” was still Xed I have been unable to locate a manufacturer’s support site. I have 50+ years experience with house wiring and electronics). I imagine we need manufacturer support now but neither I nor Amazon could provide one. So the unit is fine for a single panel, but not for two. Submitteed by DonUpdate: The second panel will work with the supplied 2wire, non-twisted cable. I tried to use two wires from a 7 wire non-twisted cable the previous system used… and too much signal was radiated away. (Modern network cable uses twisted pairs to reduce losses). I’ll try to rerun one half or both halves of the run upstairs with the supplied cable. Once working the LiveView and voice functions work well. Still no channel to the manufacturer however. Great wired doorbell, no fees
Video quality looks sharp and the screen is big and easy to use. I like that it doesn’t require any monthly fees and it records clips when someone rings. Installation takes some time since it’s wired, but it works well once it’s set up. Just wish the app was a little more polished.
