Cooling and Heating your Sprinter Van
If you are buying for additional heat in you van, I would pass on this unit.The AC works but you would need to let it run (on) while your driving to cool your van down when your ready to stop for the evening.We have the unit installed in our 2025 Sprinter Van.

Airstream Bambi install
Last week I installed this 11,500 BTU, 12V AC on my 2022, 22′ Airstream Bambi. The install was pretty straightforward and the bolts that it came with were sufficiently long enough for the install. The gasket was a little bit of a pain, because it’s folded up, but it was still easy enough. I wish it had come with a bit longer wire. I need about 6 more feet, but hopefully OutEquip can advise me on the best path forward so that I can reach my battery.After testing it, it seems to run significantly more efficiently than my old, Dometic Penguin ii, 120V AC. It’s about 6″ wider, so I did end up relocating a solar panel to install.The sound level is significantly quieter than my old AC.

Very nice heat pump a/c unit
After extensive research I found this 12v a/c unit with a real heat pump. All the other heat enabled units I saw on the market use resistance heating, which is much less efficient. I’m installing this on a truck camper that will have a12v electrical system with 2 x 300ah lithium batteries, 700w solar w/ mppt, and dc/dc alternator charging. I’m waiting on the camper to be delivered so have been bench testing everything in the cold garage. Both a/c and heat pump are powerful and pull 20 – 56 amps depending on air temps. It’s very quiet, sounds like just a fan. I expect to complete installation in the camper by January and will update this review

AMAZING 12v AC Unit
This AC Unit is game changer is arguably the best you can get for the BTUs and being 12v.The unit can fit exactly where your previous Max Airfant might have been (template included) Or you can cut your own hole, which is what I did.I have to be honest, the unit is heavy and does require two people for the job. But, it is VERY much worth it.From 68 degrees, it went down to 61 in 30 minutes in 85 degree heat.It is extremely efficient. Set to 63 degrees with half fan, it does about 20 amps, which my power station can handle for 24 hours.Super impressed with the quality of the unit. It is basically plug and play.Easily wired in the 12v with its supplied fuse.
