Is this a wireless system?
No, it is not a wireless system. The cameras require both a wired power connection and a BNC coaxial cable to connect to the DVR.
Can I view the cameras remotely without internet?
No, remote viewing requires the internet. For remote viewing, please use the “ZOSI Smart” app or the AVSS client for PC/Mac. It recommend keeping the app updated to the latest version. Local viewing via HDMI or VGA does not require internet.
Does it support AI detection?
Yes, it includes AI Human/Vehicle Detection, which reduces false alerts from animals or shadows.
Does the system support sound recording?
Yes, the built-in mic lets you hear them, but it’s one-way only (they can’t hear you).
Can I recover lost passwords?

The FB Support person saved the day – otherwise I would have returned it!
I was very frustrated with this system and ready to return it, but the FB person who did customer support absolutely saved the day. They are the main reason for my review. The camera system quality day and night are much superior to the system we had previously. We got the hard wired system as we had that before and like the quality and not using our WiFi bandwidth. Got this system up and running relatively smoothly. It all went well. Then I tried to install and set up the ZOSI view app on my IPhone. That led to such frustration I was ready to uninstall all the cameras and return it all, I tried several times to get the app to work. In the process, I somehow locked myself out of my brand new DVR system! Emails to the support email address were returned as failing to send (and written in Chinese.)Tried the chat from their support page. Also also not working. Long story short, I got on the Internet and saw some postings from their Facebook page. I went on there and messaged them. An AMAZING FB support person walked me through resetting everything and getting the app to work! He or she was very patient with me, And got everything working. Now I am so glad I didn’t return it! Good system, clear cameras and FB person is the only reason I did not have to return it. That FB person is what got them this 5 start review

Great DVR package for the price!!
We bought the DVR package as our current ones didn’t have the range we needed. These cameras with 42 IR LEDs have really good range at night. These cameras are better than most other cameras that are more expensive… For an analog camera system you can’t get a better system for the price. The app does have it’s issues but a simple relaunch or Relogin fixes most of not all issues. Their Facebook support is freaking awesome!!! I was texting back and forth with them for over 4 hours getting an issue resolved and they stayed with me the whole time and kept the mood light as I was getting frustrated.So if you are looking for a great DVR package for long distance night vision capability. Look no further than this system. Can’t beat the price!!

it works but is lacking in some areas
i bought this unit as everyone does,,, to watch over their property,,,, with my system, install was straight forward ….. place the cameras, run the cables, power the cameras, and power the unit…… but after just a few days im gonna call it camera 2 started acting up and wthin a week i had to replace,,,, ,now camera 2 and 7 get stuck in night vision mode…..but the worst is is camera 5 it has had its cable replace and it worked for a while then it started giving trouble again, i finally had to just unplug it the static colors being displayed were giving me a headache……. so right now ive been planning on replacing cable and camera just havent had a chance,,,,, also the unit displays in real time ,just great but trying to go back and look at something that may have happened it HARD to go back and look at prior footage

Great Standalone System
This unit excels as a unit for a small store where it will be monitored from a directly connected display and sits on a desk. The camera quality is good, night vision with these is better than any system I have tried by far. Responsiveness of the DVR is also good, playback is smooth, and the GUI is similar to other vendors so while it is not very intuitive it is still easy to find most things. I verified that copying the video to a usb is quick and the quality of that video is good, something that should be taken for granted with these systems but is not always the case. Where it really lacks is remote viewing and management. The remote viewing software and apps have worked for me, but it is very poor picture quality and they certainly needs more polish. I feel like this must be a new startup company when looking at their apps, they rolled them out because they knew they needed something to be able to compete and hopefully plan to develop them later. One thing that really did bother me is there is 0 management of the DVR remotely. I have my unit mounted high and in a locked case. Using a directly attached mouse is not comfortable so I normally only do that to get the system on the network and then finish from a web interface or the manufacturers software. I also did not like how much it took to disable the record motion function which on my system was already turned on. That feature is not something everyone trusts or wants and setting the unit to always record instead of only when motion is present should be easier. Overall I like the function of this unit as a standalone for the price point and with a very good picture quality. I hope they develop their firmware to include remote management capabilities, RTSP on the local network, and make the remote apps better overall or I will probably move to another system in the future.
