Great smart outlets
I’ve replaced quite a few of my standard outlets with these. They’re relatively inexpensive, super easy to install and configure with the Tapo app, and I like that I can create automations based on sunrise/sunsets, power usage, etc. I’ve encountered a few quirks trying to get them to integrate into Apple Home and Home Assistant, but generally they work very well.

Works great. Now my pergolas lights are under my remote and automated control.
I know these aren’t designed for outdoor use, but I have installed them in weather-resistant boxes with covers and so far, so good. Now my pergola lights are controlled by Google Home and my Home Assistant server. The lights turn on at sunset and turn off at 11PM. Next, I’ll leverage my Weatherflow station to turn on the lights at set darkness levels so that they come on early on dark, overcast evenings.

Great Home Automation Switches!
We use a lot of these plugs in our Apple Homekit-powered home, and I’ve been very happy with them. Setup is lightning-quick, and updating the firmware is a snap. They do exactly what they need to do without fail.

Okay for off-Internet, Matter-based Home Assistant control; still a bit cloud-tied
I got these for their Matter support. I run all of my IoT devices in an isolated, no-Internet VLAN, so local control is necessary. They’re happy enough to connect to a WiFi network without Internet connectivity, but you won’t get automatic firmware updates this way.The Matter integration is… okay. You get control of the start-up power state configuration and can of course control the outlets independently. The power monitoring does not seem to be exposed through Matter.I’m removing a star because the quick start guide says that there is a Matter setup code printed on the right side of the face, but none of the devices I received have this, so setup must go through the app first. The app indicates that there’s a 15-minute expiration on the Matter code, BUT this is actually just the time window during which additional controllers may be paired. The Matter code is fixed, even surviving resets, and can be written down (or printed on a label) after initial setup.

Absolute Piece of Mind
There’s a special kind of terror that only a forgotten iron can conjure. The sudden jolt of adrenaline, the mental image of a small, glowing appliance slowly scorching a hole in your floor—it’s a truly unique kind of panic. This smart outlet is the perfect antidote to that very modern fear. With a little help from Home Assistant, I’ve set up a flawless automation: it ensures the outlet is shut off, then turns it back on just to confirm the deed is done. It works perfectly, providing a level of peace of mind that a simple “Did I remember?” can never match. It’s a flawless, fire-preventing, and anxiety-reducing gadget. This is a must-have for anyone with an iron and a memory that occasionally goes on vacation.

Easy to set up and control
This was easy to set up and it works perfectly. The two outlets can be controlled separately and I can see the power use of each. The only negative so far is that it is a tight fit in the outlet box. If you have extra wires it may be a problem.Five stars for now, but I hope this lasts longer than the tapo plugs I had. They started to fail this week.

Very easy to install. But when the breaker gets turned on, the Tapo app recognizes it as a new device right away. However, I still needed to manually add it as a new device to pair it to my network.

Yes, it works. I linked Tapo and kasa matter to Alexa.

They are good as long as they are working and once they stop working then buy another one. Amazon customer service is next level. I wish this was a great product. Additionally as it’s an IOT it shares data with the cloud and manufacturer, I guess that’s a risk with every IOT device though if you look at their privacy policy then it’s difficult to convince yourself to go with this brand.
