    Great value Hue bulbs
I’ve got about 30 Hue lights in my setup, and these Essential A19 bulbs are holding their own. They’re the budget-friendly version of the Hue lineup, and while they’re supposedly not as dimmable as the pricier models, I haven’t tested that theory—because I installed them in spots where I don’t need ultra-low lighting. What really makes these worth it is the peace of mind: you’re still getting Philips Hue quality and full compatibility with the Hue ecosystem. They pair seamlessly, respond reliably, and work just like the more expensive models in the app and with routines. If you’re looking to expand your smart lighting without breaking the bank, these are a solid pick for areas where full brightness (or moderate dimming) is just fine.

    Great light bulbs
These work great with the required Hub and connected to my Alexa. It’s nice to be able to set the timers to have my living room light come on at dusk and go off at my specified time. Also dims a changes colors as needed for ambience.

Hue Essential Bulbs: Budget-Friendly Smart Lighting with All the Essentials
These Hue Essential bulbs are a fantastic budget-friendly option for expanding smart lighting around the home. They deliver great light quality for the price, making it easy to fill your whole house with smart lighting without breaking the bank. They’ve got all the core Hue features like dimming and a good range of colors, and they’re super easy to use. Sure, they’re not quite as high-end as the premium Hue bulbs, but for places like bathrooms or secondary rooms, they’re perfect. They’re also really practical with motion-aware features in the app, and they stay responsive and reliable. Overall, they’re a great value way to add smart lighting everywhere you need it.

Great Bulbs for the Home at a Low Price
Pros:- Nice and bright- Good dynamics with color and brightness for dark room lighting- Bluetooth control through app- Nice way to ease into a smart home system for a low price (but can get more expensive as you buy other Phillips products like the bridge)- Zigbee integration (although I haven’t used it)Cons:- App functionality: lack of customization + control

Good Replacement for me. Would buy again.
I’ve had Philips HUE lights for many years. Well before anything else was available like them. Just had one finally die so I hit up Amazon to replace it. I was a little surprised at the price but hey, the old ones have lasted over 10 years and out of the 12 that I have, only 1 has failed after 10 years. Easy to install and get connected to my system. Same look and design. Just new.

    Finally some affordable Hue lights
I’ve been waiting for more afforable Hue bulbs since Hue came out. These are fully functional white and color lights, and the color modes are brighter than other brands I’ve used. Glad to start getting some ceiling lights and fixtures on the Hue ecosystem.I had no issues pairing these with my Hue bridge. The Hue website says these have more limited dimming capabilities than the main line of Hue, but honestly these dim down to almost off and I’m not sure you would need to go any further than that. I’m looking forward to adding more of these to my smart home!

Recommend!! Quality Hue Product at Half the Cost of Original Hue Bulbs
These hue essential bulbs are compatible with hue bridge and original hue eco system at half the cost! The color range seems almost exactly the same as the original and I am extremely satisfied. Controllable also by Bluetooth in case bridge is offline. I don’t hear any noise and they work perfectly! No flickering like the cheaper WiFi bulbs I had before. Highly recommend and they keep the WiFi clear instead of adding a lot of small devices to your network.

I already have several Philips Hue bulbs and a Hue Hub in my setup, so this new Essential A19 bulb was an easy addition — and a noticeable upgrade. It paired instantly with my existing system, and the newer features really stand out. The candlelight and flicker effects are surprisingly realistic, giving a warm, cozy glow that’s perfect for evenings.Brightness and color range are excellent — from soft amber to crisp daylight white, and all the colors in between. The transitions are smooth, and the app controls feel faster and more responsive than my older bulbs.Setup through the Hue app was effortless, and it synced with my existing scenes and voice automations right away. The only minor difference I noticed is that this model feels slightly less bright than my top-tier Hue bulbs, but the effect modes more than make up for it.If you’re already in the Hue ecosystem, this bulb is a great upgrade that adds fun new effects and keeps that same dependable performance Philips is known for.

This light is too cold and the app is incredibly convoluted.I have a Govee smart bulb. I wanted to see other led lights and Hue came highly recommended.I got the app and set it up. I will say the colored aspect performs better than Govee but I don’t give a heck about the colored nonsense. I got this for reading and am looking for something that mimics an incandescent light without the heat. This light is garbage for mimicing incandescent light… Even on the ‘warmest’ setting it feels cold, as if its missing part of the spectrum that Govee bulbs have. On top of that the warmest setting is way too orange. Also the app is incredibly confusing… Why isn’t there just a temperature slider between warm and cold light? If you’re going for a hospital waiting room or call center floor then by all means get this light. But if you want 80s or chapel like incandescence skip this bulb.

Had a bunch of the original Hue bulbs which I really like, but a tad pricey (though super reliable). Well, the Hue Essential bulbs (so far) have not disappointed. They were cheap enough on sale to outfit a few more rooms I otherwise might not have. So far, everything has been working great.

I’ve been a long time Hue user, so I was curious about these. They’re a slightly cheaper alternative to regular Hue bulbs, which is great if you want the same integration. I did have some difficulty getting them to show up in my Hue app at first but once they finally appeared, everything has worked smoothly with no issues. If you’re already in the Hue world and want a slightly more affordable bulb that still plays nicely with your setup, these are a solid choice.
