An expensive lesson for me
Ordered this because it says “requires no hub” thinking that meant no additional app is required. Apparently not. Had to download the Smartlife app for it. It won’t work with a 5G wifi. When I went to adjust my wifi to the 2.4, I couldn’t log in. That’s on me, I guess. I’ve spent the past four hours trying to figure out how to log in to my ASUS wifi account without resetting my wifi to factory default because I can’t find a working password for my wifi. That’s on me. Anyway, guess I am the only ignorant person in the country who didn’t know the distinction between connecting a smart plug to Alexa instantaneously versus downloading yet another app then adjusting the entire system so the 2.4 was available. Apparently, the only way in God’s creation to do this is to only order the Amazon brand smart plug. I have $50 of brand new smart plugs, 8 of them, here that I purchased through Lunabode but, alas, past the return date because I was “stocking up”. “It’s enough to make a preacher cuss!” So, beware, if you want “easy, get the Amazon brand smart plugs!

So far I have not had to replace any of these. The older ones seem prone to lightning spikes.

Awesome for convenience
I love these smart adapters. I have them attached to lamps, standing fans and my TV. They are compatible with Alexa which is how I use them. I’ve been using them for a couple years now. I have had to disconnect and reconnect them from Alexa twice due to power outages in the area. The outages cause an issue with them reconnecting for some reason but that’s a small price to pay for the convenience of telling Alexa to turn on my lights, fan and tv without using the remotes. 🤷🏾♀️😊 You can also set them on a timer through the app.
